The seeds of Saving Ivy were planted back in 2020 when Ivy and Jack met and began writing songs, originally for a pop showcase that was sadly cancelled due to Covid-19 - however without a deadline the pair kept on writing and perfecting a fresh vibrant sound, blending elements of contemporary pop with subtle hints of nostalgia from artists such as Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush, Debbie Harry and Gwen Stafani.
In 2022, Ivy and Jack were invited to the very first Micannes Festival to join a talented lineup of artists, the showcase was successful and led to their song ‘One Rule’ being used in a commercial advert for ZENB. With more shows on the horizon, Ivy and Jack decided to bring in Thom Lock on drums, who has already been making waves in the industry playing drums for artists such as Ella Eyre and Misha B!
After originally performing under Ivy Mae - the band decided that with new members and new songs called for a new name… and so, Saving Ivy was born!
Saving Ivy's music is characterised by catchy hooks, relatable lyrics, and a blend of pop with electronic elements. Ivy Mae’s powerful and emotive vocals are the centrepiece, drawing comparisons to iconic female artists while maintaining a unique voice that sets her apart. Jack Finnis on guitar work adds depth and texture, ranging from bright, jangly riffs to more introspective melodies. Thom’s drumming provides a solid backbone, driving the band's energetic sound and enhancing their dynamic live performances.
Influences such as Taylor Swift, Kylie Manouge, Fleetwood Mac and Blondie can be heard in their music, yet Saving Ivy has carved out their own niche with a distinctive style that will be able to resonate with fans across the globe.
With their eyes set on the future, Saving Ivy continues to write and record new music, pushing the boundaries of their sound while staying true to their pop roots. They are committed to creating songs that connect with their listeners on a personal level, addressing themes of love, self-discovery, and resilience.
As they prepare for the release of their debut first singles, Saving Ivy will be making their debut international performance, after Ivy signed with Grupo Arela in September last year. With exciting shows and festivals across Spain in June and July, the band will also be making a special appearance at The Global Gift Gala Marbella - a global charity run by Eva Longoria and Maria Bravo.
